This position is based in Latham, NY within the Transportation Department. The Center’s Transportation services support program participation and service utilization by providing safe, professional transportation for individuals and families served. The fleet includes 66 specialized vehicles, serving over 500 individuals daily. Vehicles are certified by the New York State Department of Transportation and drivers require NYS DMV certification.

Maintain all department vehicles and equipment in proper and safe operating condition and in compliance with department policies and DOT regulations. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a fleet of buses and vans. May be required to fill in as vehicle driver on a relief or emergency basis, and perform basic dispatch duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays. In this role, boot and tool allowances are provided.

• Fill in as vehicle driver on a relief or emergency basis and assist with dispatch duties as needed (evenings, weekends, and holidays).

• Commercial Driver’s License B or C with passenger endorsement
• At least 5 years of experience, specifically in automotive repair or service and driving
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently
• Sign-on bonus: $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for full-time status (minimum of 30 hours per week) for new hires. Bonus is paid out incrementally with certain restrictions.

Pay and benefits:

The position pays a fixed rate of $22.50/hour and includes a sign-on bonus and quarterly incentives under the new bonus plan.
