Retail Driver

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid New York State CDL Class A driver's license.
• Must have at least two years of truck driving experience.
• Must be able to pass pre‑employment and random drug tests or meet an exception under Federal Motor Carrier Safety requirements.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills required.
• Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.

• Position may be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions.
• Extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, pulling, and reaching required.
• Routine opportunities to alter physical position or eye focus.
• Requires safe use of power equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance.

The Flex Retail Driver (CDL Class A Required) is responsible for safely transporting food donations and other materials while supporting food collection, storage, and distribution operations of the Food Bank. This position operates Class A and Class B vehicles as operational needs require.

• Pick up and deliver food donations, products, and other materials as needed.
• Operate all company vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic laws.
• Inspect all power equipment prior to use.
• Follow all safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain a valid CDL and Department of Transportation Medical Card.
• Assist with proper handling and storage of product.
• Load and unload cargo; verify load accuracy.
• Maintain accurate receiving inventory records of donated product.
• Complete trip reports and ELD daily.
• Maintain truck condition; refuel, add fluids, and clean vehicles daily.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Work occasional Saturdays as required.
• Represent the Food Bank positively with agencies, donors, and external contacts.

Salary: $30 - $30 per hour
