Responsibilities
  • Proctors and administers a variety of tests and assessments, to groups and individuals.
  • Schedules appointments for a variety of testing procedures.
  • Performs general office duties.
  • Essential duties include verifying student identification and eligibility, maintaining test security, supervising testing to ensure integrity, and handling scheduling and receptionist tasks.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Position requires an AA/AS; OR, one year full-time experience in test administration, teaching, training, counseling, or office management.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of general office practices, procedures and equipment including record keeping, filing and typing.
  • Familiarity with personal computers, word processing and database applications.
  • Good receptionist and telephone etiquette.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Abilities

  • Ability to perform duties efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply department and college rules, regulations and policies.
  • Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse group of students, sometimes in stressful situations, using tact and diplomacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior testing experience or experience handling confidential documents is desired.
  • College courses in business, secretarial or related area strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of student assessment programs, policies and procedures, including testing protocols, preferred.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Requires the ability to use electronic communication and computation systems; visual acuity to read words and numbers. Work is normally in an office setting with substantial time at a computer. May require evening, weekend, and extra hours.

Salary and Benefits

All Part-time Classified employees begin at Step 1 of the salary schedule. See posted salary details for the 25/26 Part-Time Classified Salary Schedule. LBCC may offer bilingual pay incentives; eligibility is described in Administrative Policy.

  • Salary: $17.46/hr
  • Salary steps and eligibility are described in the posting; placement at a higher step is not negotiable.
