Job Summary
This position performs a variety of office and interactive duties. Incumbents will have an option of four different areas to work in one of the following capacities:
External Outreach Coordinator, Student Dialogue Facilitator, Communications and Social Media Specialist, and Student Clubs/Organization Liaison.
Education and Experience
- Maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC.
- Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
- Have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn‑Benton Community College.
- Knowledge of general clerical and reception practices.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email.
- Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people.
- Self‑motivated and proactive, able to work cooperatively and independently with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organization and planning skills.
- Strong communication skills to provide outstanding student/campus customer support/service.
- Communicate with faculty, staff, and students, working well independently and with others.
- Interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable interacting with and supporting diverse individuals, confident representing LBCC and OIEDI internally and externally.
- Proactive; shows willingness to take initiative.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills to interact and serve Latinx/BIPOC K‑12 students, families, and communities.
- High level of interpersonal communication skills and self‑awareness.
- Experience leading topical dialogues/conversations.
- Organized, team‑oriented, reliable, high‑level interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to incorporate constructive feedback.
- Strong social media expertise, including content creation, email marketing (e.g., Mail Chimp), Instagram, and related outlets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaborative relationships with student clubs/organizations and LBCC personnel.
- Social media skills to support overall social media/communication needs.
