Job Summary

This position performs a variety of office and interactive duties. Incumbents will have an option of four different areas to work in one of the following capacities:
External Outreach Coordinator, Student Dialogue Facilitator, Communications and Social Media Specialist, and Student Clubs/Organization Liaison.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term.
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
  • Have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn‑Benton Community College.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of general clerical and reception practices.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, and email.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of people.
  • Self‑motivated and proactive, able to work cooperatively and independently with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills to provide outstanding student/campus customer support/service.
Abilities
  • Communicate with faculty, staff, and students, working well independently and with others.
  • Interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Comfortable interacting with and supporting diverse individuals, confident representing LBCC and OIEDI internally and externally.
  • Proactive; shows willingness to take initiative.
Preferred Qualifications External Outreach Coordinator
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills to interact and serve Latinx/BIPOC K‑12 students, families, and communities.
Student Dialogue Facilitator
  • High level of interpersonal communication skills and self‑awareness.
  • Experience leading topical dialogues/conversations.
Communications and Social Media Specialist
  • Organized, team‑oriented, reliable, high‑level interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to incorporate constructive feedback.
  • Strong social media expertise, including content creation, email marketing (e.g., Mail Chimp), Instagram, and related outlets.
Student Clubs/Organization Liaison
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaborative relationships with student clubs/organizations and LBCC personnel.
  • Social media skills to support overall social media/communication needs.
