Pool: PT Faculty, Anatomy and Physiology

Teaches courses in the Anatomy and Physiology field.

• Master’s degree in biological sciences or related field with emphasis in vertebrate anatomy and physiology
• Or master’s degree in another field and minimum 27 graduate quarter hours in the primary field to be taught
• Provisional:
  Bachelor’s degree plus 27 graduate quarter hours and active pursuit of master’s degree or doctorate. Provisional hire until proof of completion provided.
• Related fields include healthcare fields such as nursing, medicine, and physical therapy.

Recent teaching experience in a community college or university setting. Working knowledge of computer software and Learning Management Systems. Experience with different modalities of instruction, including synchronous and asynchronous online learning. Expertise or experience in teaching from a social justice perspective.

• Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes in various teaching modalities.
• Complete administrative tasks: assign and grade student work, establish communication with students, report attainment of course outcomes, maintain student records, comply with college policies and processes related to teaching workload.
• Keep abreast of development in subject area, educational technology, innovative teaching techniques, and continuously strive for professional improvement.
• Establish and maintain opportunities for out‑of‑class contact with students.
• Exemplify and promote the mission of LBCC.
• Connect students to college support services and resources to promote student success and retention.
• Promote equitable and inclusive classroom environment.
• Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of a team.
• Participate in department and advisory meetings as assigned.

Work performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal safety hazards. Requires arm, hand, and finger dexterity to operate keyboard and other office equipment. Requires sufficient visual acuity to recognize alphanumeric characters and good hearing and speaking ability. Considerable time spent on a computer.

Courses paid on a per‑credit basis. New Part‑time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps rolled once per term if eligible.
