Linn County requires on-site work. Remote work is not available.

The Linn County Alcohol & Drug Program provides prevention and treatment services to adults and youth with Substance Use or Co-occurring Mental Disorders or Problem Gambling. The Program is seeking an experienced clinician to provide outpatient substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health treatment services, primarily to adults and their families, including clients on parole or probation and parents involved with DHS Child Welfare.

Individuals in this position provide consultation, early intervention, and treatment services in Program clinics and at community agencies. Services include substance use and other mental disorder evaluations; individual, group, and family therapy; case management; and community education and consultation. This person would work closely with the staff of referring agencies, including Parole & Probation and DHS Child Welfare. Some evening work and travel to outlying clinics in Linn County is expected.

The primary function of this role will be offering outreach services across Linn County to those charged with minor drug related offenses who the judicial system believes can be “deflected” to treatment and/or other supports, in hopes to eliminate the charge from further prosecution. Outreach may include but is not limited to offering screenings and/or ASAM assessments to determine diagnosis and level of care, offering connection to other community based resources via referrals and warm handoffs, supporting entry to treatment and other supportive services via motivational interviewing and other skills associated with increasing engagement, working closely at times with the legal system to gain information about those being deflected in order to understand more about their individual needs.
