About the jobThe Supply Planning Specialist drives operational excellence by managing and improving supply planning processes, ensuring resources are aligned with demand and governance standards are consistently applied. The role delivers actionable insights through analysis and reporting, supports standardization of planning practices across teams, and strengthens decision-making at both site and regional levels. In addition, the Supply Planning Specialist will help prepare the organization for future implementation of planning systems, ensuring today’s processes are scalable and ready for digital planning transformation.
Job Responsibilities Production & Inventory Planning- Develop and maintain detailed production and inventory plans, balancing demand forecasts with plant capacity, labour, and material availability.
- Define and monitor safety stock policies and coverage targets, providing recommendations to optimise inventory health.
- Ensure supply plans are feasible, aligned with operational constraints, and support service-level targets.
- Coordinate supply planning activities with other North American regions to ensure alignment and regional optimisation.
- Review and suggest changes to planning master data and parameters (e.g., lead times, reorder points, lot sizes).
- Ensure processes are aligned with ERP and ready for integration with planning systems.
- Support system testing and process readiness for future planning systems, with potential involvement in model building.
- Maintain process documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of planning practices.
- Track and analyse KPIs such as, schedule adherence, capacity utilisation, inventory turns, OTIF, forecast accuracy, safety stock compliance.
- Provide root-cause insights for supply and service misses, contributing to corrective action discussions.
- Prepare clear reports and dashboards for stakeholders at site and regional levels.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend improvements to planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Support scenario planning and risk assessments to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Prepare the supply review for the S&OP and S&OE cycles, ensuring production and inventory plans are integrated with demand forecasts and business priorities.
- Partner with demand planning to monitor and improve forecast accuracy.
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, and operations teams to ensure supply plans are executable and aligned with customer needs.
- Participate in regular planning and operations meetings to review constraints, service risks, and production priorities.
- Participate in team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
- 2-4 years of experience in production or supply planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, demand/supply balancing, and production resource planning.
- Proven experience with ERP systems (Navision, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
- Experience with Anaplan or other planning systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel;
