Job Summary

Assists Groundskeepers in performing routine work caring for grounds, parking lots, and campus exterior. Operates ground‑care equipment under limited supervision. Students are not required to drive off‑campus.

Required Qualifications

• Maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, satisfactory academic progress, GPA of 2.0 or better (some positions may require higher), and financial aid in place.
• Basic knowledge of grounds and landscape maintenance.
• Reading and writing sufficient for position duties.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions and communicate with co‑workers, staff, and students.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license.
• Ability to perform sustained physical activity, walk, push, pull, lift 60 lb, bend, twist, and stoop repeatedly.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather.

Equipment Proficiency

• Shovels, hoes, rakes, hand pruners, post hole digger, power and hand tools used in lawn and landscape maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least six months related experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to perform sustained physical activity, walk, push, pull, lift 60 lb, bend, twist, and stoop repeatedly.
• Work outdoors in inclement weather.

Essential Duties

• Routine care of grounds: mowing, edging, leaf blowing, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, spreading bark chips, irrigating.
• Vacuum and sweep sidewalks and stairs.
• Wash windows.
• Maintain garbage collection and disposal.
• Snow removal of sidewalks, stairs, and parking lots when necessary.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance.
• Perform building maintenance and custodial service when necessary.
