Branch Driver – Albany, OR

We are looking for a Branch Driver to join our PLATT team in Albany, OR.

Job responsibilities will be approx 50% driving, 50% warehouse work (receiving, stocking, and order pulling).

Employee's level and pay will be dependent on experience, knowledge, and capabilities. The Truck Driver – Combined is responsible for delivering products to/from customers and company locations, ensuring deliveries meet customer requirements and materials are correct and free of damage.

What You'll Do
  • Inspect company vehicle for visual and operating defects; complete a daily inspection report.
  • Keep company vehicle clean, serviced, and maintained; alert supervisor of needed repairs or service.
  • Follow Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). local and state driving laws and regulations.
  • Load or unload vehicle and ensure all material for each order is correct and free of damage before departure.
  • Assist in preparing orders for delivery.
  • Ensure all appropriate documentation is thoroughly completed at delivery (delivery receipt signed by customer, packing list, and manifest).
  • Pick up material returns from customers; inspect condition and verify quantities and catalog numbers.
  • Pick up material from company suppliers.
  • Senior Truck Driver will participate in training entry level Truck Drivers; provide mentorship and coaching.
  • Support other warehouse duties such as preparing and filling orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • In lieu of experience, attend company driver training.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Must obtain verification of a non‑expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire.
  • Must not have had a suspended driver’s license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years.
  • Must not have any at‑fault accidents in the past 3 years.
  • Ability to handle loads with a combined weight not to exceed 26,000 GVW.
  • Ability to handle basic issues and problems.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and familiarity with traffic and driver laws.
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

    Must remain in a stationary position constantly – at least 51%.

    Must move around inside/outside the office or work location occasionally – up to 20%.

    Operate a computer and other office machinery constantly – at least 51%.

    Crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself to maintain computers in the lab/under desks/in server closet occasionally – up to 20%.

    Ascend/descend a ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment occasionally – up to 20%.
  • Talk, hear, taste, smell:
    Use senses to communicate with co‑workers and clients and detect hazardous conditions constantly – at least 51%.
