Job SummaryThe Workforce Services division is seeking adjunct instructors to support a variety of workforce training and credentialing programs. The position will provide effective didactic and skills instruction to adult learners, maintain a positive learning environment, ensure adherence to policies, and serve as a role model and advocate for student success.
Responsibilities- Deliver instruction in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, maintenance technician, concrete, carpentry, and construction safety courses.
- Offer courses daily, evening, weekend, and at various locations as scheduled.
- Hold review, remediation, and office hour sessions for students.
- Maintain participation and performance records.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.
- Respond to student, staff, and partner inquiries in a timely manner.
- Report incidents and participate in professional development and partner onboarding.
- Maintain professional competence, certifications, and licensure.
- Assist in student recruitment activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned; assist the agency/state government during emergencies.
- Two years of occupational experience in teaching.
- Combination of education and industry credentials to demonstrate content expertise.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to community college philosophy and student success.
- NCCER Certified Instructor.
- NCCER Master Level credential in relevant industry.
- Experience teaching adult learners.
- Experience using Canvas or a similar learning management system.
- Associate’s degree.
- Recent experience preparing adult students for credentialing exams.
Courses may be offered day, evening, weekend and at various locations. This is an on-campus position (not remote).
Other DetailsPosition is part time, exempt from the FLSA, and may be teleworked subject to business needs.
