About the RoleThe Adjunct Clinical Nursing Instructor will supervise and evaluate students’ performance of skills and other nursing activities to assure safe practice. They will collaborate with full‑time nursing faculty to review student progress in meeting clinical objectives and provide direct feedback regarding clinical performance.
Responsibilities- Guide, facilitate, supervise, and mentor a group of up to 10 students in a clinical setting.
- Provide 45 hours of hands‑on clinical experience and 10 hours of paperwork over an 8‑week period.
- Coordinate with full‑time faculty to review student progress and clinical objectives.
- Assist with other duties as assigned and participate in public‑health emergencies as directed by the Governor.
- Nursing Clinical Day-BSN Holder: $34.67
- Nursing Clinical Weekend-BSN Holder: $49.72
- Nursing Clinical Day-MSN Holder: $37.67
- Nursing Clinical Weekend-MSN Holder: $56.79
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing for the Associate degree Nursing Program, or Associate degree in Nursing for the Practical Nursing Program.
- Valid license to practice nursing in Virginia without restrictions.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct care prior to employment by the college.
- Expert skills, knowledge, experience, and education in the subject area and a history of successful teaching or related experience.
- Two years of teaching experience, work experience in the field, and experience with online teaching.
- Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.
- Experience teaching in an Associate degree or Practical Nursing program.
- Experience teaching in a community‑college setting.
Location and Travel: No required travel beyond campus/site locations as assigned. No supervised employees or vehicle required.
