Adjunct Faculty Pool – Astronomy

Position:
Adjunct Faculty, Astronomy.

Location:

Albemarle County, Virginia (multiple campus locations).

Designation:
Part‑time, course‑by‑course appointment on a semester basis.

Work schedule:

Developmental and/or college‑level courses, primarily face‑to‑face with the possibility of remote instruction; courses may be offered during the day, evening, weekend, or at various locations.

• Teach developmental and/or college‑level courses in Astronomy, including distance‑learning courses.
• Maintain compliance with course objectives and student achievement standards.
• Prepare lesson plans, deliver instruction, and assess student work in accordance with institutional policies.
• Provide academic support to students and maintain a professional learning environment.

• Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Astronomy (preferred);
  Ph.D. in Astronomy acceptable.
• Expert knowledge, experience, and education in Astronomy with a history of successful teaching or related experience.
• Two years teaching experience, work experience in the field, and online teaching experience (preferred).
• No required travel; operation of a state vehicle is not required.
