Work Schedule:
Primarily face‑to‑face with possibility of remote instruction. The position is taught on a course‑by‑course, semester basis. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college‑level courses, which may include distance‑learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends. May be required to perform other duties as assigned and assist the agency or state government in an emergency declaration by the Governor.
PVCC is a nonresidential two‑year institution of higher education serving Central Virginia. PVCC is nationally recognized for its outstanding transfer curriculum and Workforce Development Programs.
- Teach courses in Surgical Technology on a semester basis, including face‑to‑face and remote instruction.
- Prepare instructional materials and assessments, manage course enrollment, and support student learning.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
- Adhere to institutional policies on academic integrity, technology use, and student confidentiality.
- Must possess the National Board of Surgical Technology or equivalent certification.
- Possess Surgical Assisting certification and Surgical Technologist certificate.
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience or equivalent work experience in the field.
- Experience with online teaching preferred.
- Ability to operate a state vehicle (no supervision of employees; no required travel beyond campus).
