Job DescriptionPiedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a non‑residential two‑year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia, principally residents of the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Our scenic campus is located in Albemarle County, Virginia. We are one of 23 community colleges in Virginia that comprise the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).
PVCC is nationally recognized for its outstanding transfer curriculum; its relationship with its neighbor, the University of Virginia; and its Workforce Development Programs serving local employers.

Duties and Responsibilities- Teaching Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) content in classroom and campus laboratories.
- Design course syllabi and develop course materials related to DMS.
- Provide excellent knowledge of sonography equipment and hands‑on lab practice.
- Teaching load based on student enrollment and staffing needs.
- Active RDMS credentials from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in specialty area of both abdomen and Ob/Gyn.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competencies.
- Minimum of 2 years full‑time related occupational experience as a sonographer.
- Knowledge of computers and online instructional technologies (Canvas).
- Skilled in teaching lecture, online, and/or hands‑on laboratory courses.
- Multiple professional registry credentials (RVT and RDCS).
- Prior teaching experience.
