Adjunct faculty positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Responsibilities include teaching developmental and/or college-level courses, which may include distance-learning courses during the day and evening, on weekdays and weekends.
Primarily face-to-face with the possibility of remote instruction.
Job DescriptionPiedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education that serves Central Virginia. We are nationally recognized for our outstanding transfer curriculum, workforce development programs, and collaborative relationships with local employers.

PVCC is seeking innovative and collaborative individuals to join the faculty as a part-time Adjunct Professor of Medical Laboratory Technology. Candidates must be qualified to teach in at least one of the following areas:
Clinical Microbiology, Hematology, and Clinical Chemistry. Classes may be offered face-to-face and/or online.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Microbiology
- Two years’ work experience in the medical/clinical laboratory
- Master’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Education (preferred)
- Medical Laboratory Science National Certification (ASCP or AMT) (preferred)
- Community College teaching experience (preferred)
