Job Description: Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is a nonresidential two‑year institution of higher education serving Central Virginia. PVCC is nationally recognized for its transfer curriculum, relationship with the University of Virginia, and workforce development programs. Applications will be considered on a continuous basis as positions become available.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) content in classroom and campus laboratories.
  • Design course syllabi and develop course materials related to DMS.
  • Provide hands‑on lab instruction with sonography equipment.
  • Teaching load based on student enrollment and staffing needs.
  • Primarily face‑to‑face with the possibility of remote instruction.

Special Assignments: May be required to perform other duties as assigned, including assistance in emergency situations as directed by the Governor.

KSA's /

Required Qualifications:

  • Active RDMS credentials in both abdominal and OB/GYN specialties.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in the teaching field with demonstrated competencies.
  • Minimum of 2 years full‑time related occupational experience as a sonographer.
  • Knowledge of computers and online instructional technologies (Canvas).
  • Skilled in teaching lecture, online, and/or hands‑on laboratory courses.

Additional Considerations:

  • Additional professional registry credentials (RVT, RDCS).
  • Prior teaching experience.
