Your Role:
Machine Operator
As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate extruders, lathes, media blast, and grinders/finishers. Your role involves ensuring machine functionality and product quality through regular inspections and measurements using pie tapes and calipers, and adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.
Responsibilities- Follow production instructions: Follow instructions from process sheets, blueprints, or supervisor directions to achieve manufacturing outcomes.
- Install machine fixtures: Align and secure dies, punches, blades, or other fixtures to ensure safe operation.
- Operate machinery: Set up and operate machines such as extruders, grinders/finishers, media blaster, saws, and CNC machines per specifications.
- Inspect operations: Monitor the production process and perform regular inspections and measurements to verify tolerances and quality using tools like pie tapes, calipers, and gauges.
- Adhere to cleanliness and safety protocols: Follow safety guidelines, wear PPE, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Use a crane or buddy system for heavy parts.
- Perform other duties: Assist in other areas or departments as needed.
- 2nd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm
- Math skills: Average math skills; able to read and comprehend English instructions and complete simple logs/reports in English.
- Physical capability: Able to lift heavy items, push/pull/position components; able to be respirator-certified for a media blaster.
- Attendance compliance: Willing to work scheduled hours and follow timekeeping and company policies.
- Stamina: Able to stand for an entire shift in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
- Machining knowledge: Ability to learn fundamental machining concepts and use measuring devices proficiently.
- Collaboration: Work with team members and supervisors to optimize production and improvements.
- Accuracy: Attention to detail to maintain quality.
- Reliability: Strong dependability and consistent performance.
