What you'll do...
Joining H&R Block
* as an experienced Bookkeeper, you’ll deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service. You’ll be an integral part of delivering on our brand purpose to provide help and inspire communities everywhere.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers
- Reconcile and balance accounts
- Generate and analyze financial statements
- Prepare and process payroll
- Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements
- Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts
- Assist in client retention and growth opportunities
Your Expertise
- High school diploma or equivalent
- National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to obtain certifications
- 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures
- Ability to interpret and apply instructions, policies, and regulations correctly
- Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multi-task and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Xero accounting software
- This office operates as an independently owned franchise under an agreement with H&R Block. Franchisees make their own hiring decisions; employment questions should be directed to the franchisee.
Pay Range Information
The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Pay decisions depend on experience, education, skills, performance, and location. Successful candidates may participate in incentive plans, benefit programs, and other employee perks.
