We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead asset care and maintenance optimization within our FMCG manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment reliability, and extending the operating life of plant machinery through effective strategies, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement asset care strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs and drive improvement plans.
- Manage critical spare parts and optimize engineering procedures.
- Deliver capital and maintenance projects on time and within budget.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineering and maintenance teams.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and legal requirements (GMR 2.7).
- Promote a strong safety culture and manage maintenance budgets effectively.
- Prepare monthly reports on asset care performance, KPIs, and financial forecasts.
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in maintenance and projects within FMCG manufacturing.
- At least 5 years in a maintenance management role.
- GCC Factories qualification advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering, planned/predictive maintenance, and asset management systems.
- Experience in tissue, paper, pulp, FMCG, or continuous‑process environments.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and ability to develop technical drawings/specifications.
- Knowledge of OHS Act, BCEA, and other legal requirements.
