Program description:
The Manager in Training (MIT) Program at Wayne‑Sanderson Farms (WSF) is a structured 12‑month training program designed to cultivate early talent into future leaders within the company. Participants will develop critical leadership skills necessary to thrive in dynamic and challenging environments. Early talent must possess a college degree and meet the program competencies.
- College degree required (associate, bachelor’s, graduate) or completed college degree by MIT start date.
- Early Career (0-3 years of experience).
- Must be able to relocate within company geographic footprint.
- Courage and Resiliency:
Build strength to face challenges and recover quickly from setbacks. - Interpersonal Savvy:
Enhance ability to interact effectively with others and build relationships. - Conflict Management:
Learn to navigate and resolve conflicts constructively. - Accountability:

- Mentorship and exposure to senior leadership.
- Structured rotation schedule: plant operations, live production, business functions.
- Learn day‑to‑day operations under functional managers or mentors.
- Understand internal and external customer requirements and improve products and services.
- Identify improvement opportunities, propose solutions, and collaborate to implement them.
- Partner with experienced leadership to lead frontline activities.
- Make principled decisions using the LEAP philosophy.
- Set personal and subordinate goals aligned with company vision.
- Follow safety initiatives to maintain a zero‑accident culture.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Follow departmental and company safety policies.
- Wear required protective equipment.
- Travel across facilities.
- Work in wet, cold, hot, humid, or dusty environments.
- Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
- Work unusual shifts (holidays, weekends, extended) as needed.
