Nurse Practitioner – Marshall Medical Centers South (Full Time, 1st Shift)
Provide comprehensive direct patient care and scholarly practice including obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examinations, ordering and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing pharmacological and other treatments, and delivering health maintenance and promotion interventions such as patient and family education and counseling. Assume accountability for indirect care responsibilities that support patient care, including staff and student education, clinical research, program development, and quality improvement.
Education& Certification
- Completion of a Master of Science in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) from an accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for NP.
- Current registration through the Alabama Board of Nursing and the Board of Medical Examiners, and approval of the Northwest Alabama Healthcare Authority credentialing board.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
