Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role, you will act as a financial advisor and controller for designated business units, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls. You will also play a key role in enhancing accounting processes, providing technical expertise, and delivering actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations, to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

- Prepare and analyze financial forecasts and reports to support strategic planning and operational decisions.

- Oversee compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP and IFRS, as well as internal control procedures.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain the accuracy of account reconciliations.

- Provide technical accounting expertise and operational guidance to internal stakeholders.

- Lead initiatives aimed at improving accounting efficiency, accuracy, and system functionality.

- Coordinate with auditors to facilitate internal and external audit processes.

- Mentor accounting staff at the entry level to enhance team capabilities and ensure consistency in applying systems and procedures.

- Support manufacturing cost accounting activities, including labor and material analyses.

- Identify and address financial risks to ensure operational continuity and reporting accuracy. Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 7 years of full-cycle accounting experience.

- At least 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing accounting.

- Proficiency in ERP software

- Strong analytical skills with knowledge in cost accounting and inventory management.

- Advanced Excel skills, including VBA and complex formulas.

- Solid understanding of financial controls and reporting standards like GAAP and IFRS.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information effectively.
