As a Construction Observer, you will play a critical role in overseeing the construction phase of projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. This is a field-focused role based in Albuquerque, NM, contributing to engineering projects across New Mexico and the Southwest.

• Provide daily observation of construction activities to verify compliance with project plans and specifications.
• Prepare and maintain accurate daily field reports.
• Track material quantities and unit prices.
• Interpret plans and specifications and maintain a red-line set of construction drawings.
• Assist contractors with RFIs and review material submittals.
• Conduct field testing of construction materials.
• Retrieve and document construction material samples.
• Perform other tasks associated with construction observation and inspection as assigned.

• Education — High school diploma or equivalent.
• Industry Experience — At least 3+ years of experience in roadway or utility infrastructure construction, with an engineering firm or as an employee of a general construction contractor.
• Project and Construction Knowledge — Experience in construction management or observation.
• Technical and Communication Skills — Proficiency in written and oral communication, and computer skills (Word and Excel). Ability to track unit price quantities, read plans, and understand standard specifications.
• Personal Strengths — Determined, organized, detail oriented, and customer focused.
• Bonus Skills — Construction materials laboratory testing experience is a plus.
