Job Summary

Insight Construction is seeking an experienced Commercial Working Concrete Foreman to join our concrete team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows concrete, takes pride in quality work, and can effectively lead a crew while working alongside them.

The Concrete Foreman will be responsible for coordinating daily concrete operations, directing crew members, maintaining production and quality standards, and ensuring work is completed safely and according to project plans and specifications.

This is a working foreman position—you will be expected to actively participate in forming, reinforcing, placing, and finishing concrete in addition to leading the crew.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside concrete crews performing commercial concrete work.
  • Coordinate daily crew activities, assign responsibilities, and maintain productivity throughout the workday.
  • Build and set forms for foundations, footings, walls, slabs, sidewalks, curbs, and other concrete structures.
  • Place and tie reinforcing steel, rebar, wire mesh, embeds, and other reinforcing materials.
  • Coordinate concrete pours, including placement, screeding, finishing, curing, and saw cutting.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, elevations, and details.
  • Perform layout, establish elevations, and verify grades using lasers, levels, and other layout equipment.
  • Coordinate concrete trucks, pump trucks, equipment, materials, and site deliveries.
  • Monitor work for proper dimensions, elevations, slopes, finishes, joint placement, and overall quality.
  • Identify field issues and communicate proactively with project supervision.
  • Track crew production and ensure employee time is accurately reported.
  • Maintain an organized and productive jobsite.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and reinforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper PPE use.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial concrete experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Concrete Foreman, Lead, or similar leadership position preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial concrete construction, including forming, reinforcing, placement, and finishing.
  • Experience with commercial foundations, footings, slabs-on-grade, site concrete, and other structural concrete work.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and details.
  • Experience with concrete layout, elevations, grading, and laser/level equipment.
  • Ability to effectively lead, communicate with, and motivate a field crew.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety and OSHA requirements.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • ACI certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to project locations throughout New Mexico as needed.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity in an active construction environment, including:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and sun.
  • Working extended hours when required by project schedules or concrete pours.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who leads from the front. The right person understands that being a foreman means more than directing a crew—they are willing to work alongside their team, solve problems in the field, maintain high standards, and help keep the job moving.

If you have strong commercial concrete experience, take pride in your work, and are ready to lead a crew while staying hands-on in the field, we encourage you to apply.
