Interior Designer

Atmosphere Commercial Interiors (Omni Workspace) seeks an Interior Designer to develop creative interior space solutions that solve our client’s needs. The role involves translating design trends, research, and insights into meaningful product applications, consulting and collaborating with clients, and contributing to a wide range of project sizes across corporate, education, hospitality, and government sectors.

Primary Function

The Interior Designer is responsible for the development of creative interior space solutions that solve our client’s needs. This position requires translating design trends, research, and insights into meaningful and thoughtful on‑brand product application solutions. The designer will consult, collaborate, and engage with clients to create engaging, inspiring, and tailored spaces that meet their goals. As part of the design team, the designer may also be involved in market segments including corporate, education, hospitality, and government.

Principle

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assist or act as lead designer on assigned projects; serve as a client liaison.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and clients to gather project information and develop creative and functional design solutions that meet requirements, aesthetics, and budget.
  • Design space plans and specify creative solutions to proactively impact the sales process.
  • Translate abstract information and apply Steelcase insights in a way that yields creative and thoughtful applications.
  • Apply in‑depth knowledge of design trends, product applications, and code requirements to act as a trusted healthcare design advisor.
  • Foster client relationships through design knowledge, continual support, and flawless execution.
  • Participate in team‑selling approach.
  • Present design concepts virtually or in person.
  • Provide continual support to clients for moves, additions, and changes to existing workplaces.
  • Create computer‑generated design documents (design intent drawings, space plans, furniture typicals, furniture plans, installation documents, rendered images) to communicate and document design solutions.
  • Develop validation packages as needed.
  • Perform field measures, product inventory, and product research.
  • Produce furniture block plans, space plans, finish palettes, furniture specifications, and installation drawings.
  • Meet project deadlines and keep accurate records of working time for internal job costing.
  • Perform peer audits with other designers.
  • Adapt to functions as necessary to meet business needs.

Requirements

Minimum

Job Requirements:

  • 4‑year Interior Design or Interior Architecture degree, or a balance of Associate Degree and applicable experience.
  • In‑depth knowledge of design trends and code requirements.

Desired

Job Requirements:

  • NCIDQ or state certification.
  • Furniture dealership background.
  • 3+ years of industry experience.
  • CET Designer Software experience.
  • Evidence‑Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC).
