Elementary Schools located throughout Albuquerque - An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award This program requires a work schedule of 15-18 hours per week, and availability for afternoon program 2-6pm. Times vary depending on site hours of operation; this will be discussed during interview process. This is an off-campus work-study position with Community For Learning located throughout the Albuquerque Metro Area.
Community For Learning (CFL) Project SEAL provides social, emotional & academic based after- school and summer programs in ten Albuquerque school communities. Primarily with Kinder-5th grade. Instructors will have the opportunity to work in an after-school/before-school program designed to help at-risk students to build resiliency, improve academic skills, and promote social skills. Instructors will work together with CFL staff to create a safe, educated, effective, and empowered school community that will improve the lives of all that participate.
Staff members will use positive techniques to guide the behavior of children and youth and are encouraged to interact with each other in positive ways. Activities and curriculum are hands-on, researched based, and reflect the wants and needs of children, families, community and the school. Programming includes opportunities to develop academic skills, engage in recreation and outdoor play, participate in meaningful service-learning projects, enhance creativity and express themselves through art, explore and develop interests and talents, learn to work as part of a team, develop positive character traits, and develop leadership skills.

Preferred QualificationsApplicants must be hardworking, caring, responsible, and eager to work with children and families. Experience working with children and community is helpful. Fluent Spanish or ASL speakers are strongly encouraged to apply. Instructors must be willing to act as an effective member of a team. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, flexibility and an ability to conduct professional and considerate interactions are a must.
