Think Summer Teacher – Albuquerque Academy
Temporary position for the 2026 summer session (June 8 – July 17). Training will occur before the session starts. Apply only if your subject expertise and availability align with one of the available openings.

The Think Summer Department seeks passionate, energetic faculty to instruct, lead, and support students ranging from Pre‑K through grade 12. Teachers will contribute to the Academy’s mission by creating inclusive, student‑centered learning experiences that foster curiosity, equity, and a love of learning.

• Design and deliver engaging lessons and activities for assigned courses.
• Model clear thinking and support students in articulating their ideas.
• Provide timely feedback and graded assessment of student work.
• Collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support individualized student learning goals.
• Communicate student progress and learning objectives to families, including writing comments at session’s end.
• Uphold a culture of mutual respect, equity, and joy within and outside the classroom.
• Maintain high expectations for academic achievement and character growth.
• Supervise student‑teaching assistants, lunch groups, and other assigned duties.
• Attend faculty training, open house, Think Summer Family Night, and other required events.

• Design thoughtful lessons and activities for assigned courses.
• Help students demonstrate their thinking clearly and systematically.
• Give timely feedback and grades on written work and tests.
• Collaborate with parents and other teachers to offer individualized support of each student’s learning goals.
• Communicate effectively with students and families about classwork, learning goals, and student progress, including writing comments home to parents at the conclusion of the summer session.
• Foster and maintain a culture of mutual respect, equitable practice, and joy, in and out of the classroom. Demonstrate cultural competence and communicate and collaborate effectively across differences.
• Set high expectations for student learning, academic achievement, and character development.

• Supervise assigned student teaching assistants.
• Supervise assigned groups during the lunch period.
• Attend faculty training, open house, and Think Summer Family Night.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education
  :
  Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  :
  Deep knowledge of assigned subject content; strong classroom management; clear presentation of solutions; interpersonal and collaborative skills; time‑management; proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems; confidentiality.
• Experience
  :
  Experience in assigned course curricula required; experience with adolescents preferred; experience supervising employees preferred.
• Physical Demands
  :
  Ability to lift up to 25 lb, stand/sit for long periods, move students safely.
