Location: Emerson Elementary School 620 Georgia St. SE Gibson Blvd SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108
Position Summary: This is an off-campus work study position with Albuquerque Public Schools – located at Emerson Elementary school. This position requires a work-study award and pays the hourly rate of $16.50. During the school year, working hours are from 3:15pm - 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
Work with K-5th grade students to:
- Provide structured learning experiences during out-of-school time
- Assist students with homework
- Help build math and literacy-based activities that include technology, place based education, cultural studies, fine arts/crafts, cooking/math, and service learning
Minimum Qualifications: Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count), and if work study, you must meet satisfactory academic progress.
Preferred Qualifications: You must be able to work in a team, have good communication skills, leadership skills, be motivated, a self-starter, be creative, have a love for learning, and be able to have fun and enjoy children. Student must have a work study award for the school year. Must have reliable transportation and must pass the APS background and fingerprinting check (cost is $44.00).
