Literacy Enrollment Specialist | Assess & Place Learners

Responsibilities

• Conduct reading, writing, and/or numeracy assessments.
• Document assessment scores in program databases.
• Share assessment results with staff to guide learner placement.
• Create a welcoming environment that reduces test anxiety and respects learners’ dignity.
• Work with staff to schedule assessments.
• Provide feedback on assessment tools.
• Answer phone, text and email inquiries, file documents, make copies, etc.

To create a welcoming environment for new learners and all guests to Ethos. The Enrollee Assessor is responsible for all initial literacy assessments and pre‑intake documentation for enrollment, ensuring the most desirable placement into appropriate groups or tutoring services while providing an encouraging, supportive, respectful experience for the new learner.

• Competent computer skills, including Word, Excel and G Suite; open to learning new software applications.
• Effective oral and written skills.
• Skilled database management and record keeping.
• Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
• Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
• Bi‑lingual skills preferred, but not necessary.
