Position SummarySTEM is Child’s Play – AI Living Lab is launching a new AI Test Prep Division. The first course focuses on the newly digitized 2025 SHSAT, with additional standardized tests to follow. This position is part of the creation phase only. Canvas module outlines are already written; the instructor’s role is to expand those outlines into complete lessons, quizzes, examples, explanations, and practice materials.
There is no student interaction until the testing phase begins later in the program.
- Build complete lessons directly from the existing Canvas outline for the SHSAT course
- Create practice questions, answer explanations, activities, and quizzes aligned with the digital 2025 SHSAT structure
- Use AI tools to draft, refine, and organize instructional content
- Upload, structure, and format all materials within Canvas
- Maintain consistency with the outline while improving clarity and instructional quality
- Write explanations for ELA and Math that are clear and appropriate for middle‑grade learners
- Assist in developing diagnostic and benchmark assessments
- Collaborate with the program director for revisions, updates, and quality checks
- Help prepare the foundation for future test‑prep courses in the AI Test Prep Division
- Ability to follow a detailed Canvas outline and turn it into full instructional content
- Clear written communication skills, especially for explaining academic concepts simply and accurately
- Strong attention to detail when creating question banks, rubrics, and lesson components
- Comfort using AI tools for curriculum development
- Reliability in meeting deadlines and staying organized during the creation phase
- Ability to work independently and participate in revision cycles
- Willingness to learn the SHSAT format and other standardized tests during onboarding
Starts at 10 hours per week, remote. Hours will increase as development progresses and additional test‑prep courses are added.
Minimum QualificationsEnrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, enrolled at least half‑time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet satisfactory academic progress.
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience designing or uploading curriculum inside Canvas
All SHSAT content, AI integration strategies, digital question types, and test‑prep structures will be taught. The only preferred skill is comfort with Canvas.
