Base pay range:
This role is part‑time (20–30 hours per week) and offers a bi‑weekly stipend of $700. Payment will be adjusted based on skills and experience. Additional information about the pay range is provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of Central New Mexico.
The Youth Development Professional assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities within program areas such as Education, Technology, Teens, Arts, and Sports & Recreation. The position involves guiding and role‑modeling for members, administering programs, ensuring safety, and maintaining communication with club staff, members, parents, and the community.
KeyRoles and Responsibilities
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
- Promote and stimulate program participation
- Register new members and participate in their orientation process
- Provide guidance and role modeling to members
- Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for members and visitors
- Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure member safety
- Supervise members and visitors at all times
- Participate in weekly branch staff meetings and maintain a productive work environment
- Maintain club appearance through daily cleaning tasks
- Participate in special programs and/or events
- Drive club vehicles (if required; must be over 21, have a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record)
- Maintain close, daily contact with club staff, members, and supervisor for information exchange and issue resolution
- Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, parents, and others to assist in resolving problems
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED required; child‑development coursework preferred
- Experience teaching children and youth development, including planning and implementing quality programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with the general public
- Experience motivating youth and managing behavioral problems
- Ability to organize and supervise children to maintain a safe environment
- CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to become certified
- Physical stamina to stand for at least 4 hours at a time
- English proficiency required; bilingual in Spanish preferred
- For vehicle driving duties: 21 years or older, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record
Physical requirements include: sight, hearing, standing for at least 4 hours each day, and the ability to lift 15 lbs. Other requirements may be necessary to complete essential functions of the position and additional duties as assigned.
