Position SummaryThe College of Education & Human Sciences is seeking to hire a graduate student employee to contribute to a grant funded project. This project will conduct statewide research, assessment, environmental scanning, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and reporting required to inform development of the New Mexico Literacy Institute.
The student employee will:
- Assist with coordinating focus groups and collecting qualitative data.
- Organize, code, and analyze qualitative data collected from focus groups.
- Visualize and communicate qualitative findings.
- Assist in developing a preliminary report due December 3, 2026, and a final report due January 31, 2027.
- Assist with project coordination and logistics.

Minimum QualificationsEnrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications- Current COEHS graduate student
- Strong communication skills
- Experience with analyzing, preparing, and reporting qualitative data
- Experience or coursework in the teaching of literacy in K-12 settings is preferred.
