Primary

Purpose:

To coordinate and oversee children, servants, and safety for Nursery classrooms, including Babies, Crawlers, Walkers, and Toddlers, during services. This includes providing classroom leadership, supporting servant teams, and maintaining clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environments. This role also coordinates servants for Oasis, our adaptive classroom for children with special needs, and ensures the room is prepared and supplied for each service.

Secondary

Purpose:

To support outreach programs and special events that Calvary Kids is involved in throughout the year and assist with Calvary Kids classes as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Upholds Calvary Kids safety and classroom policies and procedures.
• Recruits and builds strong relationships with Nursery and Oasis servants through weekly communication, encouragement, and prayer.
• Equips servants to serve confidently and effectively through training, resources, and ongoing guidance.
• Coordinates Nursery and Oasis servant schedules, maintains current rosters, and ensures appropriate classroom coverage.
• Maintains a working knowledge of the check-in system to assist with classroom management.
• Builds relationships with children and parents to support families and understand children’s needs.li>
• Prepares clean, safe, organized Nursery and Oasis classrooms for each service, including prepared crafts and appropriate materials for Oasis.
• Maintains high standards of Nursery cleanliness, ensuring toys, surfaces, and equipment are cleaned and sanitized, and laundry is washed, folded, and stored before weekend services.
• Monitors and replenishes classroom supplies, submits purchase requests, and coordinates cleaning, maintenance, and safety needs.
• Helps maintain clean and organized shared offices, workrooms, and storage areas.
• Participates in Children’s Ministry trainings and meetings, supports staff during services, and assists with special event preparation, setup, and cleanup.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

REQUIRED:

• Knowledge of child development, growth, and characteristics of Nursery-age children.
• Understanding of the varied needs of children participating in Oasis and a willingness to learn how to support them and their servants.
• Strong attention to detail, with consistent follow-through on classroom preparation, cleanliness, safety, and supplies.
• Demonstrates a commitment to maintaining clean, sanitary, and orderly environments for young children.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
• Possesses a servant’s heart.
• Is enthusiastic, available, flexible, and teachable.
• Works effectively as both a ministry team leader and a team member.
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of Scripture.
• Demonstrates a life that reflects commitment and obedience to God and His Word.
• Maintains a growing, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Is devoted to prayer.
• Must attend one in-person weekend Calvary service each week.

TRAINING PROVIDED FOR:

• Ministry Platform and Classroom Manager.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
• Emergency response and lockdown procedures.
