Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an Assembly Technician to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) by improving their rapid-capability delivery process. The team will provide expertise in research and development, systems engineering, mission development, modeling and simulation, as well as ground and flight operations. Their focus will be on both large and small space technology experiments, with a primary goal of integrating sensors and payloads into a government provided satellite bus.
What you'll do:
- Provide space technology assembly and integration support.
- Support spacecraft bus, payload, and experiment assembly and integration within government facilities.
- High-altitude balloon, payload, and experiment assembly and integration within government facilities.
- Assist with hardware/software procurement and other direct costs during assembly and integration.
- Evaluate reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plan, design, and develop electronic parts, components, and/or integrated circuitry.
- Under general direction, design and develop equipment, processes and systems that involve data networks, communications, and display.
- Analyze equipment specifications and process requirements to conceive a practical design.
- Coordinate and consult with research engineers or scientists and customer representatives to resolve design problems.
- Develop and maintain technical procedures, documentation, and manuals.
- Compile and analyze operational data and direct tests to establish standards for new designs or modifications to existing equipment, systems, or processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; OR 3+ years of experience with a Master's degree; OR 9+ years of experience in lieu of degree
- Proven experience in assembly, integration, and testing of complex systems, ideally within aerospace or defense sectors
- Experience with satellite systems or space payloads, including components such as sensors, payloads, and communication systems
- Familiarity with electronic systems integration, including wiring, cabling, and power systems
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical assembly processes within a government or controlled environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Local to Albuquerque, New Mexico with the ability to work on-site
- This position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
