SummaryThe Mechanical Engineer I role is an entry level position performing routine engineering functions on assigned projects or sub‑projects of a general nature and limited scope by applying standard mathematical, physical science, and/or engineering technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assists in the design and/or project/process management projects, products, programs, components, tools and acceptance equipment under technical guidance; participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components.
- Supports the development of testing procedures and performs routine to moderately complex engineering evaluations.
- Analyzes evaluation reports and discrepancies to make recommendations that improve productivity and quality to reduce flowtime.
- Interacts as a team with design agencies, suppliers and/or internal organizations under the guidance from experienced Mechanical Engineers to assist in product realization.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
- United States Citizenship.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Ability to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Previous relevant internship experience or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrates analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation.
- Demonstrates established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects.
- Looks for opportunities to document improvements/innovations in approved processes.
