SummaryThis role is designed to be a subject matter expert within the NMO technician job progression. You will perform advanced technical work, solve complex problems for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, or refurbishing, and support engineering, prototypes, development, or production for low volume/high mix electronic, mechanical, or software products.
Duties and Responsibilities- Apply advanced development, evaluation, and quality control techniques to complex technical projects.
- Work under minimal supervision with latitude for independent action and decision-making.
- Read, understand, and follow work procedures to accurately record results.
- Provide informal leadership for groups of 5-7 technicians, leading them to accomplish business objectives.
- Be self‑directed while aligning with business priorities.
- Learns from project leads/subject‑matter experts while demonstrating technical aptitude.
- Use equipment, techniques, and tools necessary to complete tasks.
- Navigate FM&T portal or other shared resources to locate key applications or documentation.
- Engage with FM&T customers and represent the company positively.
- Understand, actively utilize, and lead others to utilize all elements of Honeywell Operating Systems (HOS) and Management Operating Systems (MOS).
- Create, modify, or train others on work procedures.
- 5+ years of experience in a related technical role with formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses or a two‑year technical degree.
- Bachelor of Science degree or technical certification from an ABET‑accredited program, or 2 additional years of experience.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on‑site as directed by management and determined by business needs.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- United States citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Advanced development, evaluation, and quality control techniques for complex technical projects.
- Minimal supervision with independent action and decision-making.
- Unique expertise specific to certain positions within this classification.
- Formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses or a two‑ or four‑year technical degree.
- Ability to machine at the highest level, complexity, and quality.
- Proficiency in operating CNCs, including up to 5‑axis, and Master Cam.
- Proficiency in Solid Works and/or Siemens NX.
- Experience programming and setting up Wire EDM machines.
