Wilson & Company is seeking a full‑time structural engineer to support our Structural Bridge team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and will perform complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys being part of a team performing office and field work.

Regular job duties include design and detailing of highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre‑stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, and drainage structures. The candidate must perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and complete assignments such as developing drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.

In addition, the candidate will be expected to lead the structural design of projects and mentor entry‑level staff in the design and production of construction drawings. Communication is key for this position; the candidate will need to communicate effectively to direct entry‑level staff and provide reports and updates to senior‑level staff and clients. The candidate will work in a team environment with engineers from a multitude of disciplines and locations.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus) from an ABET accredited school.
• 4+ years of experience in structural engineering design, including bridge, retaining wall and other transportation structures.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New Mexico or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience in plan development, analysis and design calculations, quality control of highway structures, and familiarity with AASHTO.
• Experience in using software like Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, MIDAS, and other related engineering software to design structural elements of bridges.

Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000+ depending on experience.
