This role focuses on developing advanced piezoelectric and dielectric ceramic materials, along with the processes required to manufacture them consistently and ponsibilities span material formulation, lab‑scale experimentation, characterization, and supporting transition of new materials into production environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop ceramic materials that meet performance, reliability, and market requirements.
- Prepare, process, and characterize experimental batches using hands‑on laboratory techniques.
- Advance powder processing and sintering technologies that enable reproducible manufacturing.
- Establish and maintain intellectual property related to new materials and processing methods.
- Measure and analyze dielectric, piezoelectric, and mechanical material properties.
- Support production ramp‑up and technology transfer for new formulations and processes.
- Communicate experimental plans, technical results, and recommendations to peers and management.
- Present findings through structured reports and formal presentations.
- Strong understanding of ceramic materials science and processing principles.
- Proven ability to scale new material formulations from R&D into manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of statistical tools such as DOE, SPC, and measurement capability analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute projects with minimal oversight.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to support cross‑functional collaboration.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Ceramics, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline.
- 4–5 years of experience in ceramic processing, preferably in mixed‑oxide powder systems.
- Experience with piezoelectric ceramics is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with advanced processing technologies such as colloidal processing or additive manufacturing is a plus.
- Experience working with hazardous materials requiring PPE such as respirators and adherence to strict safety protocols.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed.
- Work performed in both lab and manufacturing settings.
- Use of personal protective equipment is required when handling hazardous materials.
