AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Bridge Project Design Engineer IV for employment in Albuquerque, NM. This role will directly support transformational projects including the I‑25 and I‑15 DB projects. Design has begun and will extend over the coming years, providing a unique opportunity for multiple career‑defining roles on the project. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for the team.
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and designs for staff’s specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high‑quality, cost‑effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing the discipline component of the PS&E package.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Active PE license.
- Ability to pass MVR check.
- Master’s of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
- 6+ years of bridge design and plan development experience.
- Project experience in New Mexico related to NMDOT and/or local bridge design project work.
- Proficiency in software such as Micro Station, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, and MDX.
- Knowledge of 3D finite element software such as CSiBridge, MIDAS, SAP
2000, etc. is a plus. - Experience in the plan production of transportation structures such as bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
- Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
- Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable codes.
- Ability to do occasional field work (site visits and inspections) and travel.
