Ardurra is seeking a Transportation Civil Design Engineer to join our team in Albuquerque, NM
!
As part of our New Mexico team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the growing Ardurra family in our Transportation and Site/Civil Engineering practices. You will support our growth in New Mexico and a wide variety of exciting transportation and civil engineering/land development projects throughout the region. You will independently perform a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for projects in our Transportation and Site/Civil Engineering practices.
The candidate must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to contribute to the project design. This includes experience in utilizing various Civil Engineering computer software packages and automated engineering and design tools. Assignments involve some unusual or challenging issues requiring job knowledge and abilities beyond entry level experience.
Duties
- Lay out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identify quantities of materials, cost estimates, and perform calculations for a detailed segment of a project.
- Participate in the preparation of technical specifications for review and approval.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Perform field tests and measurements, collect field data, as necessary.
- Provide assistance and support to proposal teams or proposal managers.
- Perform preliminary supervisory responsibilities to Design Engineers.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or college.
- 3+ years of related experience in engineering and design.
- New Mexico Professional Engineer license.
- Local knowledge of agency requirements.
- Experience preparing final design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D drafting and design.
- Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self‑motivating, team‑oriented work practices, strong analysis and organizational skills.
