Responsible for supporting recycling, waste management, and lead bank operations through material handling, inventory management, equipment operation, customer service, and environmental compliance activities. Performs facility inspections, processes recyclable and reusable materials, coordinates shipments, manages universal waste collection, and maintains accurate records to support site sustainability and waste reduction programs.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct facility, equipment, and material inspections, inventories, and monitoring activities.
Operate forklifts, trucks, hoists, power tools, and other equipment to support recycling and waste management operations.
Collect, sort, process, and distribute recyclable and reusable materials.
Coordinate lead bank and recyclable material shipments, including packaging, labeling, tracking, and documentation.
Manage universal waste collection, screening, storage, and shipment preparation while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Maintain inventories and storage locations for recyclable materials, lead, and waste products.
Provide customer support, respond to inquiries, and process service requests.
Perform material preparation activities including cleaning, repair, weighing, palletizing, packaging, and labeling.
Generate, maintain, and submit required records, reports, and waste characterization documentation.
Ensure safe work practices and compliance with environmental, hazardous waste, and site procedures.
Performs other, related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of recycling, waste management, and environmental compliance regulations and procedures.
Skill in operating forklifts, trucks, pallet jacks, hoists, and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Ability to inspect, sort, package, label, and track recyclable, reusable, and universal waste materials.
Skill in inventory management, documentation, recordkeeping, and report preparation.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders while providing responsive customer service.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, solve operational problems, and work independently while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:1 year experience conducting universal waste collection, packing, and shipment preparation activities at a waste management facility or 1 year experience managing recyclable materials at a waste management facility, including collecting, packing and preparing shipment.
Valid Drivers License
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L clearance
Pay: $33.61/HR
