Acts as liaison between Mortgage Loan Officers, Member Experience Specialists, Underwriters, Members, Title Companies, Realtors, Builders, and Appraisers. Responsible for reviewing mortgage loan files and requesting required information from members. Orders, prepares files for final underwriting, closing, and funding the loan. Processes and funds home equity loans and lines of credit. Coordinates with MXSs and settlement agents for closing schedules. Prepares loan documents for closing, audits executed packages, coordinates funding, scans documents, real estate records, titles, mortgages, and other paperwork.
Ensures files are compliant with Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, federal and state regulations and KCU policies.
Primary job duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide effective mortgage loan processing activities.
- Offer exceptional member service to internal and external members, employees, and third‑party providers.
- Review new loan applications and disclosures; clarify missing or questionable information.
- Act as the member’s main point of contact throughout the process, guiding them on mortgage process.
- Ensure interest rates are correct, locked, and documentation exists.
- Collect and analyze third‑party documentation: title work, income verification, flood determination, insurance, appraisal; address credit, occupancy, title, employment verification issues.
- Assemble and submit completed file to underwriting; address manual conditions and resolve appraisal discrepancies.
- Clear any pre‑fund conditions after final underwriting.
- Communicate across parties to provide exceptional experience.
- Review documentation for compliance with regulatory requirements and KCU lending policy.
- Ensure HMDA information is accurate and complete.
- Support mortgage closing and funding functions.
- Audit loan documents; confirm underwriting conditions met.
- Calculate closing figures and coordinate closing with members, settlement agencies, and other parties.
Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
Experience- Three years of mortgage lending or real estate loan processing experience preferred.
- Two years of financial institution experience helpful, but not required.
- Experience with loan‑to‑value and debt‑to‑income calculations.
- Understanding of mortgage loan processing functions (FHA/VA and conventional lending).
- Knowledge of mortgage requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteria.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations.
- Knowledge of real estate closing documents, loan products, lending compliance, and regulations.
