Adjunct RN Faculty - PRN New Mexico Psych Clinical – Nursing

Grand Canyon University invites applications for the Adjunct Clinical Nursing Faculty (PRN) in the New Mexico Psych Clinical – Nursing program. This PRN adjunct position requires travel within the Albuquerque, NM area to directly observe student performance during clinical rotations.

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs
• Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University
• Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance
• Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including alignment with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission

• BSN required. BSNs will be required to enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire, paid for by GCU, OR
• BSN with proof of at least 9 graduate credits/3 classes in any graduate program OR approved national certification related to the content area being taught. Please specify your graduate credits OR national certification on your resume.
• MSN preferred
• 3 years  recent clinical work experience in psych nursing with a BSN
• An active, current, unencumbered, multi-state (compact) RN license
• Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students

Position is part-time, PRN, based in Albuquerque, NM with travel as required for clinical observations.
