Operations Specialist – Orthopaedic Research
Plans and implements a closely associated set of program initiatives for an identified client-oriented operational entity of the University. Participates in the generation of program resources and in the design and development of program operating goals, objectives, and protocols. Serves as primary point of both internal and external representation and liaison with respect to program implementation and operational matters, and provides technical/professional and programmatic guidance, consultation, and support to client constituencies as appropriate.
We are seeking a dynamic, proactive individual who is passionate about research and will direct that passion into helping shape the Orthopaedic Research program while simultaneously ensuring the current work gets done on time, accurately and with excellence.
Responsibilities- Suggest ways to improve operational processes and will serve as the primary liaison with departmental and interdepartmental constituencies for all research-related activities.
- Assist and supervise day to day tasks of research team. Be responsible for research administrative duties as necessary, and purchase of supplies.
- Must be able to attend early morning research meetings and conference calls at various times of day (depends on study needs).
- Coordinate and prepare for research-related meetings (e.g., the monthly resident research meeting).
- Track resident research projects and assist with misc. tasks to keep research moving forward.
High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Coordinating Institutional Review Board submissions (e.g., multi-center studies & resident submissions).
- Coordinating Sponsored Projects Office submissions (research related grants, contracts, data-use agreements, etc.).
- Overseeing research budget and research outreach programs.
- Orthopaedic Biomechanics and Biomaterial Lab liaison; coordinator medical student research efforts.
- Coordinating Clinical Trials. Recruiting patients, following up with patients and obtaining/inputting study data.
Must be able to attend 6:00 a.m. research meetings several days a week and conference calls at various times of the day (dependent on study needs).
LocationHealth Sciences Center (HSC) – Albuquerque, NM
EmploymentStaff – Regular, Full‑Time (Exempt). Monthly salary: $3,802.93 – $5,097.73.
