Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital, with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services.
ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Physicist holds a master's degree and at least one degree in Physics or a closely allied science. They are a member of the radiation therapy treatment team, familiar with the physical and geometric characteristics of the radiation equipment and radioactive sources commonly employed, and have the training and expertise necessary to measure and generate radiation, output, dose distributions, and calculations with minimal supervision.
The physicist is expected to be Board Certified (A , ABMP, or equivalent) before completion of the fifth year of service.
Job Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Physics or a closely related allied science.
- 3+ years of experience.
- Board certification (A , ABMP, or equivalent) before completion of the 5th year of service.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
