Description:
The incumbent will provide respiratory care to neonates and pediatric patients in a critical care setting.
The average daily census is 6 to 10 ventilated patients.
Floating to the adult unit may be required as needed.
Travelers are expected to work weekends as needed by the unit, limited to no more than 3 consecutive weekends.
Self-rating of 4 is required on High Frequency Jet Ventilator (HFJV) and High Frequency Oscillator (HFOV).Both NICU and PICU experience are required.
This role includes the following skills: endotracheal tube placement, suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, and oropharyngeal suctioning.
Additional skills include sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy care, pulmonary toileting, and interpretation of arterial blood gases.
Preference will be given to those with experience in Level I Trauma centers.
The facility is a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children’s Client with a total of 554 staffed beds.
Charting is completed using an electronic medical record system.

Candidates will undergo a screening process based on specific qualifications and prior experience.
