The Application Specialist V will analyze information needs, data relationships, flow, storage, and reporting capabilities of applications.
Duties And Responsibilities- Maintain, upgrade, and develop screens and reports; design database architecture and work processes.
- Interpret customer reporting requirements and develop solutions for complex reporting problems.
- Develop and analyze reports using tools such as Microsoft BI, Visual Studio .NET, Business Objects, Excel, Visio, and Word.
- Provide data entry, storage, and retrieval techniques; integrate databases; and manage database applications with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Open Database.
- Migrate legacy systems to modern enterprise systems and web-enabled applications.
- Assist in coding, testing, and implementing database capabilities, including functions and triggers.
- Develop and run customized and ad-hoc reports; support data extraction and manipulation.
- Support application of Open-Source Technologies like Open Content Management, Media Wiki, and MySQL.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance application performance and functionality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years experience with Visual Basic .NET and C#.
- 5+ years experience as a programmer analyst, including analysis, design, and working on large projects spanning multiple business areas.
- Background check required.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java, PHP, Python.
- Understanding of programming principles, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
- Ability to resolve complex problems.
- Self-motivated team player.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to obtain a government vehicle operator’s license.
