Position Summary

Plans, coordinates and provides total nursing care for customers and provides supervision and guidance to clinical team members. Scopes of work may be modified by state specific rules under the Nurse Practice Act.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiates and leads team in development of individualized nursing care plans
  • Assesses and documents the customer’s condition and nursing needs
  • Accurately and promptly implements physician’s orders
  • Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with the customer’s needs and the person’s capabilities and qualifications
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates LN’s and CNA’s
  • Assist physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of states specified Nursing Practice Act
  • Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner
  • Reports and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding customers
  • Coordinates nursing care of customers when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments
  • Supervises nursing unit, which includes scheduling and directing nursing team members to extent permitted by state practice act
  • Required to provide weekly audits as identified
  • Required to adhere to infection control procedures and ensure fellow team members are following guidelines
  • Required to hold daily team member huddles and collect sign-off sheet
  • Required Education/Experience
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
    • A minimum of five (5) years of progressive nursing experience
    Required Licenses/Certifications
    • Valid State LPN/RN License
    • Valid CPR Certification
