Job SummaryAs a Progressive Care (Acute Care Step-down) Registered Nurse at Presbyterian Hospital, you will coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. We welcome applications from new graduates and experienced RNs. New graduates may participate in our mandatory residency program featuring monthly seminars, peer debriefings, support groups, and rounding.

Progressive Care units include Acute Medical Step-Down, Cardiac Step-Down, and Neuro Step-Down. Opportunities for leadership experience through Preceptor, Clinical Practice Leader, Relief Charge and Quality Improvement roles.
Work Schedule- Day Shift: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm (12‑hour)
- Night Shift: 7:00 pm – 7:00 am (12‑hour)

Acute Medical Step‑Down: Provides care for high‑acuity patients in a teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect culture.
Cardiac Step‑Down: Consists of two units totaling 50 beds, caring for patients requiring telemetry monitoring for cardiovascular disorders and recovery from cardiac procedures.
Neuro Step‑Down: Dedicated high‑performing nurses caring for post‑neurosurgery or neurological injury patients;
Joint Commission‑Accredited Primary Step‑Down.
- Night and weekend differentials
- Education differentials ($2.00/hr for BSN; $4.00/hr for MSN)
- Sign‑on bonus for qualifying candidates

- Associate Degree in Nursing or higher required.
- Degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred.
- Registered Nurse-NM license.
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS certification required at time of hire.
