Position Summary

The Division of Neonatology is actively recruiting experienced Neonatal RN’s to expand their careers by becoming Neonatal Nurse Practitioners. Selected candidates will attend a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner school beginning in August 2023, complete a 4‑6 month clinical internship, and earn an MSN in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. After passing the certification exam, the candidate will transition to a Neonatal Practice Specialist position and serve the Division for a minimum of three years.

  • CPR certified
  • Post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check required
  • Hepatitis vaccination provided; candidate may decline or provide prior records
  • Compliance with influenza vaccination requirements
  • Pre-employment criminal background check required
  • Licensure or certification in bedside nursing required
  • Full-time participation in a 52‑week training program
  • Compliance with preceptorship program agreement
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with immediate eligibility to enter an accredited MSN program
  • At least two years of RN work experience applicable to the duties listed in the job description
  • State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or pending licensure documented by temporary licensure or current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice “compact with New Mexico”
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as RN in Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • RNC Certified in High Risk Neonatal Nursing
